Welcome to Georgia Spine & Neurosurgery Center, Atlanta’s premier minimally invasive spine surgery center. Our experienced healthcare professionals are dedicated to treating each patient as an individual, deserving of our time, attention, and respect. Georgia Spine & Neurosurgery Center has been providing world-class, contemporary neurosurgical services to their patients, with the upmost of care compassion, since 2003.
Now, three of the most trusted and respected names in Neurosurgery have joined together to provide the entire spectrum of Neurosurgical Care. Dr. Jim Robinson, Tariq Javed and Kaveh Khajavi have a combined practice experience of over 75 years. The new practice, Southeastern Neurosurgical Specialists, opened its doors on 1 November 2018. Dr. Steve Spitz joined the practice in March 2019, and Dr. Kumar Vesudevan joined in August 2020. The physicians practice at the Northside Atlanta and Northside Cherokee campuses. We accept the majority of insurance plans, and of course we welcome our Medicare patients.
We know that the burden of spine disorders on individuals and society is enormous. Patients are faced with a dizzying array of treatment options, many of which are based more on salesmanship and marketing than science or clinical benefit. This can be very stressful for a patient. Spine care in the US is fragmented, expensive, and has little clinical data to support its effectiveness. It is the really poster child for what is wrong with healthcare today.
We believe we can and must do better. At Georgia Spine & Neurosurgery, we treat patients based on scientific protocols, emphasizing education, healthy lifestyles, and conservative treatments over surgery. When surgery is indicated, the use of minimally invasive (MIS) techniques results in better outcomes with less pain and fewer complications. We have spent over 20 years perfecting our patient selection and MIS techniques, presenting our results at association meetings and publishing articles in prestigious journals.
